Hot Off the T: 5 Things To Do in Boston This Weekend

Pompeii exhibit, Kids in the Hall and a Reggae Brunch.

(All events are in walking distance from stops on the MBTA.)

1.) A DAY IN POMPEII: Get a glimpse of daily life in this ancient city before the volcano ruined everything. Hundreds of artifacts are on display including body casts of victims. At the Museum of Science, all weekend, and through Feb. 12.Tickets: $24-$27. Members pay considerably less. 
Take the Orange Line to Community College Station and walk 10 minutes to the museum. Or, take the Green Line to North Station and walk 15 minutes to the museum. (Due to construction on the Green Line from North Station to Lechmere, bus service will take you to Science Park Station, near the museum, if you don't want to walk from North Station.)

2.) : The 2d South Carolina String Band plays a free concert at the Boston Public Library on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station andwalk 5 minutes to the library. Or, take the Red Line to the Green Line, get off at Copley Station, and walk across Boylston Street to the library.

3.) TWO KIDS IN THE HALL: Scott Thompson and Kevin McDonald from the original comedy troupe, Kids in the Hall, perform at the Wilbur Theatre on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets: $32.75.
Take the Orange Line to Chinatown Station and walk 5 minutes to the theater. Or, take the Red Line to Park Street Station and walk 8 minutes to the theater.

4.) : A look at some Massachusetts families and their struggles during the Civil War. At the , Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free.
Take the Orange Line to Mass. Ave. Station and walk 12 minutesOr, take the Red Line to the Green Line, get off at Hynes Convention Center Station, and walk 3 minutes to the historical society.

5.) : At West End Johnnies near North Station and Haymarket. Sunday at 11 a.m.
Take the Orange Line to North Station and walk 5 minutes to the restaurant at 138 Portland St. Or, take the Red Line to the Green Line, get off at Haymarket Station, and walk 5 minutes to the restaurants
