Hunger Relief Non-Profit Expanding Into Somerville
Food For Free, a Cambridge-based organization, will open in a 12,000-square-foot space on Interbelt Road.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Food For Free, a Cambridge-based hunger relief non-profit, is expanding to a new space in Somerville.
The organization will move into the 12,000-square-foot space at 59 Interbelt Rd. over the next month.
Food For Free rescued 2.2 million pounds of food in 2020 and distributed 4.7 million pounds of food to those in need, which is more than double the amount distributed the previous year. The new space will support expanded programs, cost savings and more flexible volunteer opportunities – including larger groups.
