Two construction companies are being fined for violations that may have led to a man's death. Here's the full story, in case you missed it.
SOMERVILLE, MA - Two construction companies will have to cough up $34,500 for three violations that are believed to have led to a fatal elevator collapse in June, Wicked Local reported.
Liberty Construction and Shiloh Steel Erectors Inc. have be cited for three "serious" violations by OSHA after the collapse at the Partners Healthcare building, Wicked Local reported.

The accident killed Ronald “Moose” Morse, an ironworker from Hookset, NH and Shiloh employee and seriously injured a Liberty employee, Wicked Local reported.
The violations include: "not inspecting components of the hoist before allowing workers to install it; not adequately instructing the employees assigned to work on the hoist; and not following and complying with the hoist’s instruction manuals," Wicked Local reported.

In the settlement, Liberty agreed to pay $21,000 and Shiloh agreed to pay $13,500, Wicked Local reported. The reason why Liberty had to pay more was not disclosed, according to Wicked Local.
Liberty construction said they had worked with OSHA to create safer policies and completely rewrote their hoist policies, Wicked Local reported.
