Man Caught With Pants Down at Somerville Park

Cambridge man charged with open and gross lewdness after incident with sunbathers near Tufts.

SOMERVILLE, MA - A 34-year-old Cambridge man was arrested last week near Tufts University when he was allegedly caught with his pants down while peering at two women sunbathing in the park.

Omar Abdala, of 665 Concord Avenue, was arrested and charged with open and gross lewdness June 30 in connection with the afternoon incident, police said. He allegedly masturbated while making eye contact with the sunbathers while seated in his BMW, police said.

A friend of the sunbathers saw Abdala with his zipper open and exposed and took down Abdala’s license plate number, police said. Abdala sped away but was stopped by Tufts police, according to a report. He allegedly had his zipper down and shirt untucked. Police said he was identified as the man who exposed himself by one of the witnesses.
