MBTA To Update Public On Green Line Extension Progress

The $2.3 billion project is on track to be completed by the end of next year.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Green Line Extension team will update the public on the project's progress Wednesday, Dec. 9. The MBTA will hold a virtual meeting at 6:30 p.m., featuring a visual tour of the project that shows the latest progress on construction activities.

The meeting will be held via a Zoom webinar. Members of the public may register here. After registering, a confirmation email will be sent that contains information about joining the webinar.

The MBTA said in early October construction is more than halfway done. The $2.3 billion project, which extends the Green Line 4.7 miles from a relocated Lechmere Station to Union Square in Somerville and College Avenue in Medford, is on track for completion by the end of 2021.
