'Patriots Day' to Film at Home of Slain MIT Officer

Scenes from the movie about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings will be filmed at the former home of Officer Sean Collier.

SOMERVILLE, MA - "Patriots Day," a movie starring Mark Wahlbergh that will tell the story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, plans to film on Curtis Street Friday, according to a public event license granted to CBS Films Inc. by the City of Somerville.

Multiple news outlets have reported the house in which the filming will take place is the former home of MIT Officer Sean Collier, who was fatally shot by Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaez almost exactly three years ago.

All of the filming will take place indoors but the crew requested parking throughout the neighborhood. The sidewalk directly in front of the home will be blocked with equipment on Friday, according to the license.

Prep for the shoot will be on Wednesday April 13 and Thursday April 14. Filming will be on Friday April 15 from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
