Proposal to Bulk-Buy Electricity Open for Public Comment

The efforts could reduce energy costs and increase the amount of renewable energy in the city's supply.

SOMERVILLE, MA - Somerville residents are encouraged to voice their opinions on the city's proposal to introduce green power options into the energy supply.

Somerville is looking into a citywide electricity bulk buying program known as community choice aggregation. The program will allow the city to pool the energy buying power of all interested customers.

The efforts could reduce energy costs and increase the amount of renewable energy in the community’s energy supply.

The Community Choice Aggregation Information Session will be Thursday, April 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 at the Somerville Central Library. Comments can be made at the meeting or you can view the plan and obtain a comment form online >>>
