Owners Robert Gregory and Caryn Whitney said they had plans to open an on-site nanobrewery at the Malden location, offer outside seating and operate catering services at the site. This would be in addition to offering the restaurant's existing BBQ and drink menus.
Malden city officials joined Gregory and Whitney as they offered free samples to passersby near Malden Center Monday afternoon.

"Many of the young people that have been working for us over the years ... were moving to Malden," Gregory told reporters. "We came to realize, 'Wow, this is a good community,' and it's got a lot of people ... the more we're here, the more we find we like."
The site's proxomity to a proposed minor league baseball park was also a likely factor in the decision.
Pending their application for a liquor license and some improvements to the building, residents can expect to get their BBQ fix sometime this August.
