Somerville Bars, Restaurants Closing For Winter: List
Here are the dining establishments going into hibernation to offset the economic impact of the pandemic.
SOMERVILLE, MA — A number of area restaurants and bars have gone into hibernation this winter as the industry continues to struggle under pandemic restrictions. The dining spots plan to reopen when the weather is nicer or a treatment for the coronavirus is more widely available.
Some restaurant owners have expressed frustration with what they feel is a lack of support for the industry.
"We have been unable to get any rent relief, and we all know @mass.gov is not helping restaurants," Highland Kitchen owners Marci Joy and Mark Romano wrote in a statement on Instagram. "Hibernation is the only way Highland Kitchen can get through this winter with the hope of reopening in the spring."
