Somerville Man Dies In N.H. Climbing Accident

The 34-year-old was climbing Cannon Cliff in Franconia Notch State Park​ when a dislodged rock cut through his climbing gear.

A 34-year-old Somerville man died Sunday in a rock climbing accident in New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said Benjamin Kessel was climbing Cannon Cliff in Franconia Notch State Park when a dislodged rock cut through his climbing gear. He fell about 150 feet into the trees.

His body was recovered Monday morning and brought back to base.
