Somerville Man Stole Little Girl's Bike: Police

SOMERVILLE, MA - A 58-year-old man stole a little girl’s bicycle on Memorial Road last week, police said.

Ghita Bobocea, of 7 Memorial Rd., was arrested June 13, 6:46 p.m. after police received a report of a man who stole a child’s bicycle.

Bobocea allegedly yelled at a child and said that the bike she was riding belonged to him. Police said Bobocea took the bike away from the kid. The juvenile victim froze in fear, police said.

When officers went to Bobocea’s apartment, he frantically reported that people were stealing his bicycles. An officer saw the child’s bicycle in Bobocea’s apartment, police said.

Bobocea was charged with unarmed robbery.
