Somerville To Open MIAA Football Playoffs Against Triton
The Highlanders secured home field advantage with a 5-2 regular season finish.

SOMERVILLE, MA -- Somerville High School football enters the MIAA's North Division 5 playoffs seeded second with a 5-2 record. The Highlanders will open the eight-team tournament Friday at 7:30 p.m. against seventh-seeded Triton Regional High School (2-5) at Dilboy Stadium.
If Somerville were to win Saturday's game, they would advance to play the winner of Swampscott (6-1) and Watertown (3-4) on either November 3 or November 4. The date and time will be announced after the four first round games are completed.
A longtime member of the now-defunct Greater Boston League, Somerville's first season in the Northeastern Conference got off to a rocky start. The Highlanders fell to a 1-2 record before winning four straight, including a 42-0 shutout over Medford and an upset over previously undefeated Lynn Classical.
