Somerville Police Warn of Fake Oxycontin In Area

SOMERVILLE, MA - Somerville Police today shared a public awareness alert from the Boston Police Department warning residents of dangerous counterfeit drugs circulating locally. "Boston police are currently investigating the sale of pills marked as Oxycodone, but have been found to be made of Fentanyl. Anyone who ingests the Fentanyl puts themselves at serious risk of death," Boston Police said.

This is the first appearance of Fentanyl passed off as oxycodone in the Boston area, police said.
