Somerville Teen's Murder Unsolved After 26 Years
Police are still searching for 17-year-old Deanna Cremin's killer.
SOMERVILLE, MA — It's been 26 years since 17-year-old Deanna Cremin's body was found behind a Jaques Street housing complex, an unsolved murder that still haunts the city of Somerville.
Deanna was studying at her boyfriend's house the night of March 29, 1995. At around 11 p.m., her boyfriend walked her part of the way home and turned back, he later told her mother.
She never returned home.

In a 2019 interview with WCVB, Katherine Cremin was hopeful that a new Cold Case Unit in the Middlesex County District Attorney's office could uncover new details about the murder and bring Deanna's killer to justice.

"This needs to be solved," Cremin told the network. "Deanna was a sweetheart. She deserves justice."
The community remembers Deanna each March by holding a prayer service to celebrate her life. In 2016, Somerville dedicated Deanna Cremin Playground – formerly Otis Playground – in her memory.
The group Friends of Deanna Cremin is offering a $70,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction and asks everyone to "honor her memory today by paying it forward and performing any random act of kindness throughout the day."
