Somerville Weather: 50 MPH Wind, Power Outages Possible
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Somerville Thursday.

SOMERVILLE, MA - Strong winds could knock out the power in Somerville this week.
Somerville was placed under a wind advisory Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Gusts could hit 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The strongest winds are forecast in the afternoon and could have dangerous effects.
Power outages are possible and driving high-profile vehicles could be difficult, NWS said.

Here's the NWS wind advisory:
- A WIND ADVISORY...REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY.
- LOCATIONS...INCLUDE EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS INCLUDING THE ISLANDS...AS WELL AS ALL OF RHODE ISLAND.
- WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
- TIMING...DEVELOPING THURSDAY MORNING AND PERSISTING INTO THE EVENING HOURS. STRONGEST WINDS AROUND MIDDAY INTO AFTERNOON.
- IMPACTS...INCLUDE THE POTENTIAL FOR DOWNED LIMBS AND POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CHALLENGES FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
