Suspects Caught With Knives And Weed At Trum Field
Somerville Police thought they were going to find a gun, and had to settle for knives and weed.

Not every tip pans out to be exactly what police may have initially suspected.
But in the case of Somerville Police’s recent arrests of Kirby Calixte, 22, of Somerville, and Patrick Janeiro, 24, of Everett, at least they sort of, kind of found what they were looking for.
Police say at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, they were told four individuals in a red Toyota 4Runner lingering around Trum Field were carrying a gun.

Upon finding the car, police discovered there were only three individuals within - Calixte, Janeiro, and a third man.
Furthermore, a frisk of the three suspects yielded no gun - only a switch blade on Calixte and a pocket knife on Janeiro. A third knife, as well as a baggie containing marijuana, were found during a search of the car.

Police say Calixte confessed to threatening someone earlier that evening with his knife. If held at a certain angle, at a glance, Calixte’s knife could be confused with a gun, according to police. Both Calixte and Janeiro were charged with carrying dangerous weapons.
