3 Finalists For Wayland Superintendent Job Revealed

The three candidates to replace Superintendent Arthur Unobskey include educators from New Jersey, Everett and Hopkinton.

WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Superintendent Search Screening Committee this week revealed the top three candidates to replace outgoing Superintendent Arthur Unobskey.

Each candidate underwent interviews this week with the Wayland School Committee. In early January, the three finalists will tour the schools, and a final decision on the new superintendent should come before the end of January, according to search team member Kim Reichelt.

  • Arcelius Brickhouse — The former director of secondary education in the Plainfield County (N.J.) Public Schools system.
  • Omar Easy — The former executive assistant principal of the academies at Everett High School.
  • Jennifer Parson — The Hopkinton assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction.

The Wayland School Committee in early May notified parents that Unobskey intended to leave the district by the end of the 2020-21 school year after about three years on the job.
