5 Things: 'Rockin' the Library, Summer Theater, Collins Market
A few things you need to know on Thursday, July 24, 2013, in Wayland.

1. We know you don't want to think about it, but first-quarter property tax payments are due a week from today. Just a reminder...
2. The Wayland Public Library is "rockin'" Thursday (yes, that was a bad pun). Children 4 and up are invited to participate in a craft and science activity focused on fossils and rocks. "Rocks, Rocks, Rocks" takes place at 3 p.m.
3. The summer theater season continues with productions Thursday night of "The Merchant of Venice" at Vokes Theater, and "Shrek: The Musical" and "Blood Brothers" at Regis College. For more details on each show, check out the Patch Events calendar.
4. ICYMI. There was another vehicle fire in Wayland Wednesday. This one, in a pickup truck on Pinebrook Road.
5. Year of Wayland Trivia. Collins Market, at 21 Cochituate Road, became Wayland's first municipal building when it was constructed in 1841. Town meetings were held there from 1841-1878 and it also housed Wayland's first library.
