Update On Bagel Table Opening In Wayland
The Bagel Table will open its third location in Wayland in spring, not in January as first reported.
WAYLAND, MA — Bagel Table, a popular local chain with locations in Ashland and Chestnut Hill, will open its third location soon in Wayland — and will take the place of a national chain whose bagels are perhaps a little less authentic.
The Wayland Bagel Table is set to open in late spring in the former Panera Bread, 21 Andrew Ave., at the Wayland Town Center. A town official initially said the opening date was in January, but a Bagel Table spokesperson corrected that, saying the eatery would open in "late spring."
Bagel Table sells New York-style bagels that are "crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside." If the other Bagel Table locations are a measure, there will be long lines at the Wayland location.

The Ashland location frequently sees long lines on weekend mornings. On top of a selection of more than a dozen bagels, the restaurants serve sandwiches, baked goods — and of course coffee. The signature sandwich at the Ashland location is the "Freddie from Chelsea" bagel sandwich, which includes lox, cream cheese, tomato, onion, and capers if you want them.

Correction: A Bagel Table representative has said that the store will not open until late spring. A Wayland town official initially said it would open Jan. 15. The chain also no longer carries Yummy Mummy products.
