Dispose Of Needles In Proper Bins: Wayland Police
The department said residents have been putting used syringes in the medication bin, making it dangerous to empty.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland police appreciate that residents are disposing of unwanted or used medication and needles or "sharps" but is asking the public to pay extra attention to which container you throw them out in. Inside of the police department there are two hazardous material containers for people to drop-off their medication or needles separately, but apparently, there have been plenty of mix ups.
The Wayland Police Department shared a photo on Facebook of the medication disposal bin, filled with needles and syringes. The department said having a mixed bin like that "makes it difficult and dangerous for those that empty the containers."
The boxes are labeled "Med Return" and "Sharps" to avoid the very problem that has occurred.
