Driver in Fatal Rice Road Car Crash Identified

An 84-year-old Wayland man passed away after crashing into a tree on Rice Road Friday, police said.

WAYLAND, MA - The 84-year-old Wayland resident who passed away after a car crash on Friday was identified as Howard S. Richter, police said.

Richter crashed into a tree on Rice Road Friday after appearing to lose control of his vehicle, police said.

Richter was airlifted to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and later died from his injuries, according to police.

The incident is still under investigation.
