Fire Dept. & Ambulance Service Fees Expected To Rise

This is the first time in 12 years the fire department is raising its fees, ambulance fees are adjusted every two years.

WAYLAND, MA- Starting in April, a trip to the hospital by ambulance is going to cost you more in Wayland.

According to MetroWest Daily News, could start paying as much as double the current fee for some fire department and ambulance services. This is the first time the fire department fees have been raised in 12 years and Wayland's Fire Chief David Houghton told the paper that the department needs to start keeping pace with the state fire prevention code. Ambulance fees are adjusted every two years.

Cutting and welding will go from $25 to $50 and the removal of commercial oil and gas tanks fee went up from $100 to $200. Ambulance fees range but the basic life support fee will increase by 28 percent.
