Got A Light? Wayland Seeks Flashlight Donations For Seniors
The Wayland Council on Aging is collecting flashlights in case of inclement winter weather.
WAYLAND, MA — As a dark, possibly storm-filled winter approaches, the Wayland Council on Aging hosting a unique donation drive for local seniors.
The COA is looking for flashlight donations — with batteries, if possible — to help seniors stay safe and out of the dark during possible power outages in the winter months.
The COA has set up a box outside its office for drop-off donations. The group is also accepting flashlights ordered online and mailed to the office at 41 Cochituate Road, 01778.

It's only snowed once so far this season, but several strong rain and wind events have already knocked out power in Wayland — including the storm that hit on Monday and Tuesday. Forecasts indicate another serious rainstorm (with snow possible) is coming Saturday.
