Here Are The Businesses Residents Want To See In Wayland
Independent coffee shops and Trader Joe's are just some of the businesses Wayland residents want to see.
WAYLAND, MA — The small business community in Wayland is still growing and while residents have options at their doorstep, there's always room for more. Patch wanted to know what kinds of new businesses residents would like to see in Wayland and residents flooded the Facebook post comments with ideas as well at Wayland Patch's Neighbor Post.
It's hard to list all of the businesses residents want to see come to town (there were almost 30 comments with suggestions) but here are some of the most popular answers:
Entertainment
Several residents mentioned bringing a bowling alley to town, but not just any ordinary alley, one that combines restaurant atmosphere with the fun of the game. A few residents made the comparison to Flatbread Company, which has locations in Somerville and Brighton.

Shopping
When it comes to shopping, Wayland residents have their sights set on quite a few grocery stores. Particularly, residents want a Trader Joe's, ALDI or a Market Basket to come to town. Residents also mentioned superstores like Costco and Target coming and independently owned bookstores could be an asset to the town.
Restaurants
The majority of comments listed restaurants or eateries. Most residents who commented mentioned wanting a restaurant that was family-friendly or offered healthy alternatives, like vegan options. Some chains were listed including B.GOOD, Sweetgreen and Clover.
