Hundreds In Wayland Still Without Power After Nor'easter
Wayland town officials advised residents to use the public safety buildings to charge phones or go to the restroom.
WAYLAND, MA — There were still hundreds of people in Wayland without electricity on Friday morning, more than a day after a powerful nor'easter hit the town.
As of 8:30 a.m., 199 people were without power. At the peak of the outage, some 1,200 people had no electricity in Wayland, according to MEMA. Eversource crews were working to restore power along Claypit Hill Road, Sherman's Bridge Road, and Woodridge Road late into the night Thursday.
As of Friday morning, the following roads were closed in Wayland:

- Sherman's Bridge Road

- Brooks Road
- Past 55 Orchard Lane
- 51-60 Woodridge Road
- 7 Country Corners
- 3 Richard Road
Eversource has said that Metrowest communities will be fully restored by midnight Friday.
"The public safety building will be open 24 hrs/day until power is fully restored. Citizens may visit to use the rest rooms, obtain power for charging devices, and obtain water," town officials advised.

Statewide, about 220,000 people lost power. That number was down to 68,000 on Friday morning.
