Inaugural Wayland Turkey Trot Will Support Local Schools

The Wayland Public School Foundation's first ever turkey trot will take place Thanksgiving week.

WAYLAND, MA — If you need a little exercise after Thanksgiving dinner — or if you're looking to make room before dinner — there's a new road race coming to the streets of Wayland next week.

The Wayland Public School Foundation (WPSF) will host its first turkey trot this year to raise money for initiatives at all five Wayland public schools. The 5K or 10K trots will take place virtually due to the pandemic, which means you can run or walk the courses at your own pace.

The WPSF supports school activities by funding grant requests from teachers and school staff. The grants have gone to fund everything from a printing press for Wayland High School to a teacher to staff the math center at the middle school.

The turkey trot includes four different courses around town, and costs just $35 to enter (or $50 per family). The courses can be completed between Nov. 21 and 30, and each participant will be entered into a raffle.
