Man Flown To Trauma Center After Construction Accident In Wayland

A worker was hit by a trailer that was being unloaded from a truck.

WAYLAND, MA — A construction accident sent a Wayland worker on an emergency flight to a Boston Trauma Center on Tuesday. The worker was hit by a construction trailer that was being unloaded from a truck. Wayland police and fire had to free him from the trailer's he was stuck between, although he was not pinned.

The accident happened on Rice Road at 11:47 a.m. Fire officials said the man was the drive of one of the trucks dropping off the equipment. Officials said they believe while the trailer was being unloaded the rigging either slipped or broke.

The man suffered serious injuries and was flown to Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston.
