Mass. Climate Legislation Update with State Sen. Michael Barrett

On January 24 at 4 p.m., MetroWest Climate Solutions will host a Climate Legislation Update featuring State Senator Michael J. Barrett, who represents the Third Middlesex District.
Sen. Barrett continues to be a regional leader on addressing the climate crisis. In this program, he will offer an update on Massachusetts climate legislation at the start of a new legislative session and his view of what our state and region need to do to address the growing threats from our changing climate.
The Zoom-based presentation will be followed by a Q&A, moderated by Chris Stix. Stix is a founder of MetroWest Climate Solutions and he is a Senior Fellow at the Conservation Law Foundation focusing on transitioning the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from greenhouse gas generated by natural gas consumption and leaks.

Senator Barrett represents Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Lincoln, Waltham, Weston and large parts of Lexington and Sudbury. He is Senate Chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy. The committee’s jurisdiction covers everything from cell phones to alternative energy to public utility reform to carbon pricing.

About MetroWest Climate Solutions – This all-volunteer committee is made up of members of First Parish in Wayland, First Parish in Lincoln, First Parish Church in Weston, the Congregational Church of Weston, and other individuals. The committee’s charter is to offer information on climate change and to provide activities for individuals to get involved in bringing about solutions.
