Mosquito Control Efforts Underway in Wayland

WAYLAND, MA - A helicopter will spray for mosquitos over large areas of wetland in Wayland on Tuesday morning.

If the weather is acceptable on Tuesday, the application will be done over Wayland wetlands in the morning. If it’s delayed for any reason it will be re-scheduled for Wednesday.

The efforts are part of the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project.

Correction: This article originally said the helicopters will be spraying insect repellent. They will actually be spraying biological larvicide, a natural bacterium found in the soil classified as a non-toxic pesticide by the EPA.
