New Market Basket Location Opens Along Route 27

MAYNARD, MA — Local lovers of Market Basket can rejoice: the local chain has opened a new location nearby, offering an alternative to the constantly crowded Waltham and Ashland stores.

The company opened the Maynard store along Route 27 on Friday, the chain's 84th store in New England. The Maynard store will feature a "Butcher Block" station, a specialty meat counter only available at 14 of the chain's stores.

The store will also feature a bakery, a café and a sushi station, according to the company.

Tewksbury-based Market Basket was founded in Lowell in 1914, and grew to become one of the most beloved supermarkets around.

The Maynard store is open at the Maynard Crossing complex at 6 Digital Way.
