Upcoming: Wayland School Officials On Back-To-School Plans
Wayland has prepared three back-to-school plans, with a final recommendation likely coming in early August.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland Public Schools officials are holding a series of informational sessions this week on the district's fall back-to-school plans.
District officials have created three plans covering an all in-person model, a hybrid model, and fully remote learning. The plans have to be submitted to state officials by July 31, and the Wayland School Committee is expected to vote on a final recommendation the first week in August.
Here's the schedule for Zoom calls this week:

Wayland Superintendent Arthur Unobskey released the district's three plans on July 9, with a recommendation that the district return to full in-person learning this fall. Under the in-person model, all students would be seated 3 feet apart, and everyone in grades kindergarten through high school would be required to wear masks, among other guidelines.
The Wayland School Committee has been discussing the plans ever since, and some parents have expressed concern about a full return to school, suggesting that the hybrid model might be safer. Nearby school districts, including Framingham, Worcester, and Lincoln-Sudbury, are leaning toward the hybrid model.
