Wayland Coyote Attack Kills 1 Dog, Injures Other: Report
A Wayland family is dealing with the loss of one of their dogs after a pack of coyotes attacked their small poodles.

WAYLAND, MA — A coyote attack left one dog injured and another dead Saturday morning, according to reports. The Wayland family is hoping nobody else has to suffer the tragedy they did this weekend.
Dawn Davies said she let her two toy poodles, Puskin and Gogol, out after sunrise around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a WCVB report. She was watching the two dogs, she said, when a pack of four coyotes grabbed the poodles.
The coyote with Gogol lost their grip, so the pup fell to the ground. It had a puncture wound the WCVB report says, but is on the mend.

Puskin, sadly, wasn't as lucky. Davies' daughters later found the dog's fur and a blood trail.

“The things I thought I was doing to protect my dogs didn’t work. Waiting until daylight didn’t work, standing where I could see them didn’t work, screaming didn’t work and trying to startle them didn’t work," Davies said, according to the report.
″(The coyote) was looking at me the whole time but didn’t startle, no matter what it is I did,” she said.
