Wayland During WWI: Students Reveal Our History

Wayland High School students have been researching the lives and deaths of several men who died a century ago. Hear their story.

WAYLAND, MA - Wayland High School students have teamed up with the Historical Society to help residents learn about Wayland's rich history.

Over Here and Over There: World War I in Wayland will take place on Sunday May 1 at 2 p.m. in the Wayland High School Lecture Hall.

Students and members of the historical will tell the stories of Charles Alward, Spencer Richardson, Joseph Loggie, and Albert Ringer: names you might have seen adorning streets at four Wayland intersections, according to WaylandeNews.

The men reportedly lost their lives during World War I a century ago and Wayland students have been scouring "newspaper databases, local primary sources, family memory, and genealogical and archival records" to find out more about them, WaylandeNews reported.
