You might have to sleep with the lights on tonight.

WAYLAND, MA - Friday the 13th is approaching and Wayland ghosts could be coming out to play. Here are some Wayland ghost stories that we've found around the internet. We can't guarantee that the stories are true, but isn't it more fun to believe they are?
Haunted Vokes Theater:
The Vokes Theater at 97 Boston Post Road is haunted by the ghost of Beatrice Herford, according to "Haunted Places: The National Directory" by Dennis William Hauck. The actress founded the theater in 1904 and passed away in 1954. Herford's "friendly" ghost has been detected near her reserved box on the theater's balcony and some have reported hearing her voice whispering backstage and in the lobby, according to the book.

"When we heard noises from the attic my dad would go to investigate. He would find nothing and no one. One time and the very last time he went up there the door slammed shut and locked him in there. It did that on its own," the writer said.
The writer said after that the family left the Christmas decorations untouched and didn't even pack them up when they moved.
Ghosts fighting over a door:
An old house on 91 Old Sudbury Road was reported haunted back in the 1970s, according to the Haunted Places of the USA blog. The house was built in the late 1700s or early 1800s and rumor has it the "over the river and through the woods" poet Lydia Maria Child lived out here final years there, according to the blog.
The owners reported that half of the house felt unusually cold and had a frightening feeling about it while the other half of the home felt like it was inhabited by a "warm and comforting presence."
One day the family's children were in the dining room when a door that connected another room violently opened and slammed shut five times, as if two people were fighting over the door, the blog reported.
The family reported that this was a common occurrence, the blog reported.
