Wayland Gun Club Owner Thinks Petition Is Targeted At Club
Three sponsors have created a petition aimed at prohibiting the discharge of weapons.
WAYLAND, MA—A new petition created by three co-sponsors in Wayland aims to prohibit the discharge of a firearm within 1,000 of a dwelling, according to reports.
The president of the Wayland Rod and Gun Club told Wicked Local Wayland that the petition is a "ploy to shut down his club." One of the petition's co-sponsors admitted the move is directed at the club.
The petition has more than 100 signatures and if it is approved at town meeting, that would mean that 99 percent of Wayland land wouldn't allow for the firing of a gun.
