Wayland Hosting Household Hazardous Waste Day In April
The 2021 Wayland household hazardous waste event will collect items like pesticides, automotive liquids and much more.
WAYLAND, MA — Wayland's annual household hazardous waste event will be held in April, allowing residents to dispose of everything from shellac to bug spray for free.
The April 24 event will be held at the Wayland Department of Public Works facility at 66 River Road. Town officials are asking attendees to preregister before arriving.
While there are dozens of items the town will accept, there are some hazardous materials that can't be dropped off, including:

- Ammunition, guns and explosives
- Asbestos
- Commercial hazardous waste
- Construction waste
- Computer parts, computer monitors, television sets
- Empty aerosol cans
- Fire extinguishers
- Fluorescent lamps, CFL bulbs, broken fluorescent bulbs
- Latex paint
- Prescription drugs
- Syringes
- Printed circuit boards
- Radioactive materials
- Tires
