Wayland Police Issue Strong Wind Advisory
High winds across the state have brought down trees and wires.
WAYLAND, MA- Wayland police issued a strong wind advisory on Monday in anticipation of high winds bringing down trees and wires across town. Draper, Pine Ridge and Country Corners Roads have all been blocked by fallen trees, police said.
Police wrote in a Facebook post that residents should stay away from downed wires and trees and alert police immediately.
Wind speeds ranging from 46 mph to nearly 60 mph have been reported across the state this morning. The National Weather Service says the strongest winds are expected this afternoon.

The winds have also been taking down power lines or bringing trees down onto power lines in some cases. Wayland had 161 outages reported as of 8 p.m. on Monday, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management System. Eversource took to Twitter to remind customers not to touch downed wires and report the incident to both police and the utility company.
