Wayland Preschoolers Test Toys Before Holiday Season Hits

The youngsters are hitting the working world early by doing what they do best, playing.

WAYLAND, MA — Some Wayland preschoolers are getting their job experience in early as they flex their skills in a field they happen to be experts in: playing. That's right, Wayland preschoolers are working this week as toy testers for several toy companies ahead of the holiday season.

Students at Wayland's Goddard School as well as other Goddard Schools in the country are participating in the 2019 Goddard School Preschooler-Approved Toy Test. Students at the school from infants to six-year-olds will be observed by their teachers as they play with toys from top name brands, including Leap Frog, V-Tech and Play Monster.

Teachers watching the kids play will document how the toy rates. The rating system is based on set criteria that includes interactivity, skill development and creative inspiration.
