Wayland Resident Co-Chairs RFK Children's Action Corps Event
Annual Embracing the Legacy Gala (Virtual) Benefits Programs for Massachusetts' Most Vulnerable Children: May 11 at 7 p.m.

NEWTON/WAYLAND, Mass. — Emma Carpenter, of Wayland, and John J. Boyle III, of Newton, both active members of the board of directors at Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, will serve as event co-chairs for Embracing the Legacy, the nonprofit’s premier annual gala that raises funds to support its programs. Set for Tuesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m., the event will be held virtually this year.
RFK Children’s Action Corps, in its 52nd year of service, is a national leader in developing and implementing successful models of child welfare, social service and juvenile justice programs. It was founded in the memory of the late Senator to carry on his commitment to social justice and vulnerable people
Born and educated in the United Kingdom, Carpenter is passionate about leveraging technology for social development. Since moving to the United States from the United Kingdom eight years ago, Carpenter has been a passionate supporter of Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps. She is currently the VP of Global Service Providers and MSSP's for Palo Alto Networks, a security technology company headquartered in San Jose, Calif. In that role, Carpenter and her team are responsible for creating and implementing new solutions and offerings with those partners globally to expand their managed services practices. Carpenter has worked all over the world and splits her time between Massachusetts and Colorado, where she can be found snowboarding, one of her family’s favorite sports.

Boyle, an eight-time co-chair for the event, is deeply committed to improving the lives of children and families across the Commonwealth. As Vice Chairman at Cushman and Wakefield, one of the largest commercial real estate services firm in the world, he oversees tenant representation for Greater Boston and sits on the firm’s Global Advisory Board. With more than 30 years of real estate experience, he has been involved in numerous headquarter transactions in the Greater Boston market and has significant experience in the area of multi-market, portfolio-wide tenant representation.

The agency’s annual Embracing the Legacy gala celebrates the legacy of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the work of the organization founded to carry out his principles of social justice for the poor and disadvantaged. Carpenter and Boyle are joined by third event co-chair and board member, Former Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III.
During the event, Former Congressman Kennedy will reflect on his late grandfather’s legacy and the lasting contributions he made to protecting society’s most vulnerable children and families. The event celebrates the critical work of the agency during the past year and presents the Embracing the Legacy Award to the following honorees:
Jim Geraghty, Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management; Justin Pasquariello, Executive Director of East Boston Social Centers; Reverend Liz Walker, Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church; and Marty Meehan, President of University of Massachusetts.
Susan Wornick, former anchor of WCVB-TV’s midday newscast and a longtime supporter, volunteer and member of RFK Children’s Action Corps’ Advisory Council, will emcee the event which raises money to support the agency’s year-round work with at-risk children, families, and communities throughout Massachusetts
Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps, an affiliate of Doctor Franklin Perkins School, operates a number of programs and services for at-risk children and families, including community-based initiatives, residential treatment and juvenile justice programs, and partners with national organizations and state agencies to use proven methods and develop new ways to advance practices in the care of those most vulnerable, providing the tools and skills they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
