Grosse Pointe Park Police Blotter: Alleged Home Invader Arrested

This week's Grosse Pointe Park arrests included a suspected home invader one block away from the targeted home.

GROSSE POINTE PARK, MI — Police in Grosse Pointe Park arrested a 61-year-old man from Detroit for allegedly attempting to break into a home in the 1400 block of Whittier Road March 19. According to the police report, the suspect allegedly tried to gain entry to a home by breaking the window pane of the door with a rock. The resident was inside the home during the attempted break-in and called 911; the suspect fled and was arrested by police around 9:40 p.m., just one block away.

A group of teens reportedly stole a tip jar containing $60 from the counter of a business located in the 1200 block of Beaconsfield Road around 11 p.m. March 22. According to the report, they fled on foot northbound.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Detroit at 9:30 a.m. March 19 for driving with a suspended license and outstanding warrants after he was reportedly speeding near Mack and Lakepointe roads.

An unknown suspect reportedly stole around $20 in change from an unlocked Dodge Charger in the 700 block of Westchester Road overnight March 19-20.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 2002 Honda which was parked in the street in the 1200 block of Yorkshire Road. There are no suspects at this time.

A resident in the 900 block of Pemberton Road reported that two males in a white sedan stole a lawn mower, trimmer, edger and floor jack from the garage around 9:30 p.m. March 23.
