The 34th Red Bull Infantry Division gains a new command sergeant major during a change of responsibility ceremony Saturday in Rosemount, Minn.
“Command Sgt. Maj. Joel Arnold has a proven track record as a leader in both Iraq and Afghanistan and I am confident in his ability to bring the division to the next level,” said Army Maj. Gen. David J. Elicerio, 34th Red Bull Infantry Division Commander.
“This position is the most senior ranking of the enlisted members in the division and his extensive military background will provide new ideas in advancing our priorities,” said Elicerio. ”Command Sgt. Maj. Arnold will be responsible for overseeing multiple facets of readiness for our division soldiers such as: morale, welfare, discipline, performance, training, equal opportunity and promotion.”

“The change of responsibility ceremony is steeped in military traditions and serves the dual function of rendering honors to the departing command sergeant major and providing official recognition of the transfer of authority to the incoming command sergeant major,” said Army Maj. Jason K. Burley, public affairs officer for the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division.
“Command Sgt. Maj. Doug Julin, the departing command sergeant major, is retiring after more than 35 years in the military. We invite you to see this time-honored ceremony.”

Members of the media and public are invited to attend the ceremony Saturday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at the National Guard Training & Community Center, 13865 South Robert Trail, Rosemount, Minn., 55068.
