Apple Valley High School Liaison Officer Named Minnesota Juvenile Officer of the Year

Liaison Officer Mike Eliason has been selected as the 2011 Minnesota Juvenile Officer of the Year, according to an announcement from the school.

The award committee members for the Minnesota Juvenile Officers Association "were impressed with Mike’s efforts and dedication to the youth in the AVHS community," the announcement says.

Eliason will be recognized at an awards luncheon on Jan. 26 at the MNJOA annual conference in Duluth.

Eliason has been a full-time police officer for the City of Apple Valley for more than 20 years, and has been the AVHS liaison officer for the past 17.
