Free Tax Assistance Available From Galaxie, Burnhaven Libraries

From the Dakota County library system:

Dakota County Library is offering two programs to help adults who earn $49,000 or less a year with tax preparation. All sessions are free.  

AARP Tax-Aide is targeted at seniors. Registration is required for these sessions. They will take place at the Burnhaven Library, 1101 W. County Road 42, Burnsville, on Thursdays from Feb. 2 through April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All tax preparers are specially trained by AARP. To register, call 952-891-0302.  

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) helps seniors, adults and families with tax form preparation. These sessions will take place at the , 14955 Galaxie Avenue, Apple Valley.

There is no registration for these sessions, which are on a first-come, first-served basis. February sessions are Thursday, Feb. 16, 2 to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. ot 2 p.m. Please check the library program guide for more dates in March and April. All tax preparers are specially trained by the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Minnesota.
