Apple Valley DUI Suspect Crashed Twice, Arrested
Apple Valley police arrested a man this week, following two crashes on the same night.
APPLE VALLEY, MN—Apple Valley police arrested a man this week, following two crashes on the same night.
On December 28 at 4:30 p.m., Officer Short was dispatched to a report of a male who appeared to be intoxicated while driving his vehicle, according to police.
Staff at a local business reported the male drove his vehicle into a snowbank and was stuck. Unknowing bystanders, helped the male free his car prior to Officer Short’s arrival.

The male drove away from the parking lot and away from the business. Police officers
began looking for the vehicle. Less than 10 minutes later, dispatch received a call of a
vehicle crashed into a tree a short distance away from the initial call. The driver of the vehicle matched the description of the male who had earlier put his car in the snowbank in the parking lot.
Officer Short located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. She immediately noticed
signs of intoxication and the driver confirmed her suspicions, according to police.

He admitted to drinking alcohol, refused to perform field sobriety tests, and told Officer Short
to just arrest him because he was drunk.
She obliged and transported him to the male to jail.
Officer Short learned this was not the driver’s first experience with drunk driving; his license was revoked for a similar offense, according to police.
