Apple Valley's Tre Jones Follows Brother, Commits To Duke

Apple Valley High School's Tre Jones will follow in his older brother's footsteps when he plays basketball for Duke University next year.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — The University of Minnesota was on his shortlist, but it was Coach K's pitch that won out in the end. Apple Valley High School's Tre Jones will follow in his older brother's footsteps when he plays basketball for Mike Krzyzewsk and the Duke Blue Devils next year.

Jones, the 2016-17 Gatorade Minnesota Boys Basketball Player of the Year and a finalist for Gatorade's national player of the year, lead his team to a state championship title in March.

Jones, who will be a senior this fall, made a verbal commitment to play for Duke Sunday. The five star recruit is the first commitment for Duke's 2018 class, ESPN reported.
