Dakota County Now Under Twin Cities Curfew
Dakota County was initially not under the regional curfew announced for the Twin Cities metro.
DAKOTA COUNTY, MN— A curfew will be enforced in part of the Twin Cities metro area from 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, state authorities announced.
The curfew now includes Dakota County, in addition to being in effect in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Anoka counties.
The county said just before 5 p.m. Monday that it has been notified that residents will be part of the regional overnight curfew ordered by Gov. Tim Walz. The entire county is included in the curfew.

"Essential workers and other authorized personnel are exempt from the curfew," the county said. "Individuals seeking emergency care, fleeing dangerous circumstances, experiencing homelessness and having to travel to and from employment are also exempt."
The restriction is in response to civil unrest that broke out after a Brooklyn Center police officer fatally shot 20-year-old Daunte Wright Sunday.
Cities and suburbs throughout the region will see an increased presence of Minnesota National Guard troops and police.
