GoFundMe Set Up To Complete Apple Valley Man's Bucket List
The money will be used to send him and his family, all tennis-lovers, to Cincinnati for the Western & Southern Open.
APPLE VALLEY, MN — A GoFundMe has been set up to send an Apple Valley father and former Coordinator for Eastview Athletic Association Tennis to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Western & Southern Open in August.
Jason Fregien has spent the last year battling Glioblastoma- an aggressive terminal brain cancer, the GoFundMe said. He has lost his ability to eat by himself, make basic decisions, and can't participate in tennis anymore, Katie Nordquist, the fundraiser organizer said in the description.
Fregien mentioned that seeing an Open was on his bucket list, inspiring the organization of the GoFundMe. The money raised will be used to send the Fregien family, who are all avid tennis-lovers, to see the Cincinnati for the Western & Southern Open.

Nordquist said in the description that a local Apple Valley business will match the first $5,000 donated. Any funds over the goal will be put towards a fund to support youth tennis in the community and possibly develop a tournament or scholarship program in Fregien's name, she said.
The fundraiser has raised $18,000 so far.
