Highway 52 Paving Near Rochester Begins July 23

Expect ramp closures and traffic delays between Highway 63 in Rochester and Interstate 90.

ROCHESTER, MN — Southbound Highway 52 motorists will encounter single lane traffic, short duration ramp closures and traffic delays between Highway 63 in Rochester and Interstate 90 beginning Monday, July 23.

Crews will pave all lanes of southbound Highway 52 from just south of Highway 63 to the I-90 interchange. One lane of southbound traffic will be open during this work.

Once that paving is completed, crews will begin paving the adjacent northbound lanes of Highway 52 in August, weather permitting.

Additionally, this project will extend the turn lane on southbound Highway 52 onto eastbound I-90, add high tension cable barrier and repair two bridges at the Highway 52-I-90 interchange.

Traffic delays are expected during paving as motorists encounter single lane traffic and short duration ramp closures. Construction is expected to be completed in late fall of 2018.

Rochester Sand and Gravel is the prime contractor on this $6.6 million project.
