Letter to Editor: Support Wills' Veteran Jobs Bill
Finally – A Bipartisan Bill That Helps Minnesotans
The unemployment rate for Post 9/11 MN veterans has fluctuated from a high of 23% to 12% in 2012 while Minnesota’s overall unemployment rate was 5.5% in December 2012. Republican Representative Anna Wills 57B of Rosemount/Apple Valley has authored the bipartisan Veterans Jobs Tax Credit Bill that would provide tax credits for Minnesota business who hire a MN veteran ($3000 for a disabled veteran, $1500 for an unemployed veteran, and $500 for any veteran). Getting more veterans in the workforce will result in more MN taxpayers and a growing economy. I therefore strongly support her actions to help get MN veterans back into the workforce. Defending your country should not be an obstacle to getting a job and feeding your family.
