Rosemount Student Places in Worldwide Dance Competition

A Rosemount ninth-grader has placed 24th in his age group at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

Evan Lowe, 15, the son of Patty Spencer and Todd Lowe, is a freshman at . He is a student at O’Shea Irish Dance in St. Paul and has been performing Irish dance since he was 7.

Evan qualified to compete in the world championships last June by winning the Mid-America Oireachtas regional championship in Chicago.

Spring Egg Hunt Rescheduled for Saturday

The Rosemount Lions Club’s spring egg hunt, originally scheduled for last weekend but postponed by snow, has been rescheduled for Saturday.

The hunt will begin at 10 a.m at Ames Soccer Complex at , 1300 145th St. E.

Children must be accompanied by an adult and should bring a basket or bag to hold their treats. Egg hunters will be divided into three age categories: 1 to 3, 4 to 6 and 7 to 10.

A bunny will be on hand, so parents are advised to bring their cameras – and also to check the information line in the event of bad weather: (952) 985-1780.

Citywide Garage Sale Scheduled for May

The city of Rosemount has scheduled a citywide garage sale for May 19-21.

Residents who want to have their garage sales included on a map have until April 29 to submit their information. The fee for inclusion in the map – which will be circulated throughout the county – is $10.
